The newly opened cultural arts center complex "Małopolski Ogród Sztuki / Małopolska Garden of Arts" in Krakow Poland, has been selected for the Prof. J. Bogdanowski Prize 2012 for the best architecture realized in Krakow. In mid-June, we published the first round finalists of the TEX-FAB APPLIED: Research through Fabrication competition, and today it was announced that the overall winner was the entry CAST THICKET by Christine Yogiaman and Ken Tracy. The jury, consisting of Nader Tehrani, Andrew Kudless, Branko Kolarevic, and Vlad Tenu, selected the winning project from the four finalists. Eleven finalists have been announced today in the international design competition for the New National Stadium Japan, including design heavy hitters like Zaha Hadid Architects, SANAA, UNStudio, and Toyo Ito. Eric Höweler and J. Meejin Yoon of Boston firm Höweler + Yoon Architecture are the winners of the Audi Urban Future Award 2012. The team won with the project "Shareway," a proposal calling for the reinvention of the Boston-Washington, D.C., metropolitan region called Boswash.
