The winners of the 15th annual National Design Awards were recently revealed, as announced by The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. Established in The White House in 2000, the National Design Awards recognizes design excellence, innovation, and public impact in a multitude of disciplines. It's a well-known fact that a safe and comfortable home is essential to one's well-being. From Building Trust International's 2013 "The Future of Sustainable Housing in Cambodia" competition, over 600 registered entrants proposed sustainable housing solutions for low-income families in Cambodia.
The jury -- which also comprised of the families who moved into their new homes -- chose 3 joint-winning designs recently constructed in Phnom Penh.

The winners of the WoodWorks 2014 U.S. Wood Design Awards sure know how to prove wood as a versatile material in architecture. Out of 140 entries -- the most the competition has ever received -- the jury selected nine of the most outstanding projects in wood architecture.
During the recent ceremony at the Southeast Wood Solutions Fair in Charlotte, NC, awards were given in nine categories. Four Regional Winners were also awarded.

The Architectural League of New York announced today the eight winners of Emerging Voices 2014. The prestigious invite-only, portfolio competition recognizes emerging and potentially influential firms and individuals based in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.

Recognizing the best design throughout Massachusetts and the New England region, the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) revealed the winners of the 2013 BSA Design Awards.
