Britain may soon have its own national memorial dedicated to Holocaust victims and survivors. Prime Minister Theresa May recently announced the official launch of the [UK] Holocaust Memorial international competition...The winning team will design the new Memorial and a below-ground public Learning Centre located beside Parliament in London's Victoria Tower Gardens. Plans for the memorial competition were first revealed by David Cameron this past January. — Bustler

A few months after winning the honorable 2016 Venice Biennale Golden Lion, Pritzker laureate Paulo Mendes da Rocha was announced today as the architecture recipient of the Japan Art Association's Praemium Imperiale International Arts Award for 2016. Comparable to the Nobel Peace Prize in prestige, the Praemium award celebrates extraordinary [lifetime] achievement [in the arts]. — Bustler

Architects and filmmakers team up in the AIA's yearly I Look Up Film Challenge to create a short film responding to the open-ended prompt of “demonstrating architecture as a solution”...the second edition made its return with double the number of submissions.
