As the Northern Hemisphere reaches the midst of winter, the architecture and design community keeps it exciting with lots of upcoming events, exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, and tours.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture Fair | February 5–11 (and February 6–10, respectively), Stockholm
Kicking off the list is the Swedish capital with two coinciding can't-miss events for design professionals and fans alike, putting the latest in Scandinavian design front and center at events across the city.
Madrid Design Festival | February 8 – March 17, Madrid
In the heart of Spain, meanwhile, this year's Madrid Design Festival boasts a packed roster with "53 exhibitions and installations, 177 brands, institutions and spaces, and the participation of 695 professionals," hosted at various venues from early February until mid-March.
Desert X AlUla | February 9 – March 23, AlUla, Saudi Arabia
If you're in the Middle East region this winter, check out the site-responsive, open-air Desert X AlUla exhibition. Now in its third edition, the event promises to place "visionary contemporary artworks by Saudi and international artists amidst the extraordinary desert landscape of AlUla, a majestic region in north-west Saudi Arabia of natural and creative heritage steeped in a legacy of cross-cultural exchange."
New York Build | February 13–14, New York City
Come on down to Manhattan's West Side, as the annual New York Build fair pops open its gates again at the Javits Center. Billed as "the largest construction & design show for New York and the Tri-state region," the event has lined up over 500 speakers across 15 conference tracks, workshops, more than 400 exhibitors, and, as the organizers reveal, PARTIES!
Modernism Week 2024 | February 15–25, Palm Springs
In Southern California, Palm Springs' famed Modernism Week returns mid-month with more than 350 events, including tours of iconic homes and gardens, a classic car show, a vintage trailer show, talks, performances, and, of course, cocktail parties.
Refik Anadol: Echoes of the Earth: Living Archive | February 16 – April 7, London
If you're in London and can't wait for the newly announced Serpentine Pavilion by South Korean architect Minsuk Cho and Mass Studies to open in early June, go and visit the Serpentine Galleries in the meantime for Refik Anadol's generative artwork Echoes of the Earth: Living Archive — his first major institutional solo exhibition in the UK.
CTBUH 2024 Americas Conference | February 22–23, Miami
Architects and urban planners will convene in Miami this month under the banner "Future Downtown: Density and Resiliency in Cities Across the Americas." The two-day conference has announced plenty of international speakers, panels, tours, and networking opportunities.
Design & Construction Week | February 27–29, Las Vegas
Late February will feature the 11th co-location of the NAHB International Builders’ Show and the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, offering copious events for residential construction and design industry professionals.
Frieze Los Angeles 2024 | February 29 – March 3, Los Angeles
The month ends with the annual Frieze Los Angeles art fair, which will present "over 95 of today’s most exciting galleries from around the world, an expansive program of ambitious installations, collaborations with nonprofit organizations, and pop-ups from some of Los Angeles' most beloved restaurants."
ONGOING EVENTS
Accidentally Wes Anderson: The Exhibition | December 8 – February 17, London
Coming to a close this month is the London installation of the traveling Accidentally Wes Anderson exhibition, featuring over 200 unique buildings and whimsical sites around the world that could easily double as scenery in one of Wes Anderson's cinematic creations. The curtain closes on February 17.
