"Decoding Density is an international invitation to imagine new possibilities for six-storey plus apartment forms by addressing two of the most existential problems of today: climate change and housing affordability. Submissions will challenge the constraints of code and other regulations to do so."
2024 Urban Design Challenge: A Student Ideas Competition for the National Capital Region

Submission Deadline: Thursday, March 28, 2024
"This competition challenges students to propose innovative planning and design ideas for the LeBreton Flats Parks District and inspire future consultation efforts for these parklands. It is open to students enrolled in a post-secondary institution who are studying planning, architecture, environmental design, urban design or landscape architecture in Canada. The maximum number of participants per team is three."
RAIC 2024 Annual Awards
Registration/Submission Deadline: Thursday, January 11, 2024
"The RAIC opens its call for submissions today for its annual awards. The Architectural Practice Award, the Emerging Architectural Practice Award, the RAIC Advocate for Architecture Award, the RAIC Architectural Journalism and Media Award and the RAIC Research & Innovation in Architecture Award are all accepting submissions. These awards will also be accompanied by a call for nominations for Honorary Membership."

"The National Urban Design Awards are awarded every two years and recognize the important link between architects, planners, and landscape architects in achieving successful urban design. They strive to raise awareness of the crucial role that urban design plays in maintaining and improving the quality of life in Canadian cities and acknowledge the efforts of individuals, organizations, firms, and projects in this field."
