Passive house non-profit Phius has announced the results of their 2022 Passive Projects Design Competition, seeking to highlight the best passive projects across North America. The fourteen winning projects span high-rise new builds to retrofits, with sectors ranging from residential to commercial and institutional.
Entries to the competition were scored according to their passive performance, contextual difficulty, cost effectiveness, design, craftsmanship, and health. In addition to the five competition categories (single-family, multifamily, affordable, commercial/institutional and source zero), two projects were selected as Best Overall Project and Best Project by a Young Professional (35 or under). A further category, the Community Development Recognition award, was also added for the 2022 edition.
Below, we have republished the winning entries and honorable mentions of the 2022 awards edition.
