The Architectural Review has announced the shortlist for the AR Emerging awards 2022. The 16-strong list includes architects working on a range of projects across the world, from educational spaces in urban Europe and the Pacific islands to public spaces from Somaliland to Greece.
This awards program recognizes the work of early-career designers through their completed work, works in progress, and ideas. The featured practices this year are experimenting with sustainable materials, such as stone, bamboo, and charred timber, adapting existing buildings, and creating essential public spaces.
The shortlisted practices will present their work to the AR Emerging Awards jury, which includes previous winners Carla Juaçaba and Rahul Mehrotra, at the World Architecture Festival in Lisbon, which will run from November 30th to December 2nd, 2022.
