Atlanta Legacy Makers
Register/Submit Deadline: Monday, Nov 23, 2020
Central Atlanta Progress, in partnership with the City of Atlanta, has issued a call for architecture and design firms, artists and urbanists, to submit proposals for a landmark project on the north plaza of Atlanta’s Woodruff Park. The project, Atlanta Legacy Makers, will honor the leadership of two pivotal mayors while creating public space that reaffirms our commitment to Dr. King’s dream of the Beloved Community. We envision public space that journeys from historical narrative around Mayors Ivan Allen, Jr. and Maynard Jackson, Jr. to a monumental work of contemporary art that reflects our highest aspirations for our city.

CBDX CITIES FOR ALL
Register/Submit Deadline: Thursday, Dec 31, 2020
This international design ideas competition—the first in the CBDX series—asks, What does a city for all look like? How does it operate and function? How can it come into being? What place, structure, thing, system, process, or relationship must be forged to engender a more just and equitable ‘city for all’? And in particular—this is perhaps the most crucial question—the competition asks, How are these aims navigated by, through, and with the current uncertainty wrought by the ongoing global pandemic and the long-term existential threats of environmental degradation and climate change?

Competitions can be such a racket at times - Charge desperate students and young professionals a handsome fee, payout to a couple of winners and pocket the rest.
