47th Annual Interior Design Competition and 28th Annual Will Ching Design Competition

The 47th annual Interior Design Competition celebrates outstanding, innovative Interior Design/Interior Architecture that encourages new ideas and techniques in the design and furnishings of interior spaces. The 28th annual Will Ching Design Competition celebrates originality and excellence in commercial design from firms with (5) five or fewer employees. Winning projects will be celebrated throughout the year and honored at the annual IIDA black-tie gala on June 7, 2020, published in an issue of Interior Design magazine, in the official press release, and featured in the Winners Brochure and on social media.

Even though scary to look at, spiders are one of the most impressive and well-equipped animals on earth. Bearing in mind the innumerable qualities of the spider it is up to the participants how uniquely they study and identify a quality and innovatively implement in architecture to make it better. Participants are free to choose what element of a building / structure / area / volume / landscape etc. they want to implement their idea and inspiration on.
Ragdale Ring Competition

Ragdale, the nationally acclaimed artist residency program in Lake Forest, Illinois, invites architects, artists, and designers to apply for the opportunity to design, build, and exhibit the 2020 Ragdale Ring, a temporary theatre to house summer concerts, performances, and events. Proposals that consider contemporary, fanciful, and functional interpretations of the original Ragdale Ring, designed by architect Howard Van Doren Shaw in 1912 as an outdoor garden theatre, are encouraged.
DETAIL Prize 2020 announced – Wanted: outstanding architecture

The DETAIL Prize is awarded for future-oriented, innovative and authoritative projects with outstanding architectural and technical qualities. From 2 March to 30 April 2020, planners can submit projects realised anywhere in the world for all building types that are characterised by special details within a coherent overall concept
2020 Architecture & Film Symposium Call for Papers

The University of Cincinnati's School of Architecture & Interior Design has launched a call for papers for its 2020 Architecture and Film Symposium. Building upon the analogous relationship between cinematic processes and built form, the 2020 Architecture & Film Symposium, Of movement, explores ideas that intersect at the development of concept, context, and making in the overlapping domains film and architecture. The symposium adopts cinematic representations of the built environment as a cultural lens for interdisciplinary theoretical debate.
