Super Temporary Design/Make Competition
Register/Submit Deadline: Sunday, Feb 16, 2020
FoolMoon is the nighttime kick-off event to the FOOL-ish weekend. In the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market in Kerrytown, everyone and anyone is invited to gather in the streets to shake off those cold gray winters. For this competition, entrants must design and install a temporary glowing gateway installation for the annual FoolMoon celebration in Ann Arbor. This installation is meant to be a beacon for the event at the entry point to the festivities. In the spirit of the FoolMoon night, the installation must be illuminated in some way.
The Site Magazine // Call for Articles 2020 // Does Architecture Heal? Does Architecture Discriminate?
Registration Deadline: Sunday, Feb 16, 2020
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, Mar 31, 2020
The discipline of architecture is simultaneously broad and incisive: the practice of architecture demands a constant reinvention of its role, a redefinition of design’s limits. The Site Magazine's forthcoming series “Does Architecture _______?” confronts the obstacles and opportunities afforded by architecture’s evolving agency while continuing to delineate relevant contexts for spatial design. “Does Architecture _______?” is conceived as a series of five thematic issues, each one curated to discursively champion or constructively critique the latent tensions and potential of the built environment that we know, or can imagine. We are open for submissions for issue 1 and issue 2.
