Winter Stations 2020

Winter Stations is a single-stage international design competition held annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Participants are tasked with designing temporary winter art installations which incorporate existing lifeguard towers spaced strategically across the city’s Kew and Woodbine beaches. The competition is open to everyone in the world. There is no fee to enter.
24h competition 32nd edition - light shadow
Register/Submit Deadline: Sunday, Dec 15, 2019
This ideas competition aims to present architectural answers in 24 hours to social problems, humanitarian causes, or utopian themes of contemporary societies. Once the brief is released on competition day, entrants only have 24 hours to submit their proposals. The theme of its 32nd edition is “light shadow”: “In a society dominated by the technological revolution and where light becomes the engine of progress, we need some shade to look more human and worldly.”
Beam Camp Seeks Big Ideas for 2020 Project

Every year, Beam Camp — a collaborative building and design summer camp that works with kids aged 10-17 — solicits proposals for unique and spectacular large-scale projects that serve as the centerpiece for a 25-day session of camp, during which they are built and brought to life by 100 campers and staff. Proposals are invited from creative individuals and teams, including but not limited to Artists, Designers, Filmmakers, Architects, Builders, Engineers, Musicians, Fabricators & Technologists.
Superscape 2020
Register/Submit Deadline: Monday, Mar 16, 2020
The biannual prize seeks to encourage innovative and visionary architectural concepts that explore new models of living and strategies for inhabiting an urban context over a broad expanse of 30 years. Reflecting processes of change, Superscape opens a creative space for unconventional ideas meant to deliver new impulses to real-life architectural output and urban development.
