ARCHITECTURE : FUTURE OF PAST — RETHINK THE PARISIAN HERITAGE

The building of the Compagnie des Notaires de Paris, located in the heart of the capital, is to be transformed. Due to issues inherent to concepts of heritage and cultural identity, the transformation of this edifice raise multiple questions going beyond the simple protective prescriptions emitted by the city of Paris. With la Compagnie des Notaires de Paris as a starting point, this competition will allow students to initiate a reflection on the future of Paris’ heritage.

Zero Threshold Design Competition

ZeroThreshold is a design competition that is about more than creating accessible spaces. It’s about elevating the idea of accessibility through intentionally beautiful design. This competition is an important step in changing the conversation about accessibility. Not only will it launch Cleveland towards being the world’s best “barrier- free city”, the solutions that surface can be broadly applicable to cities throughout the United States and around the world. Winning entries will receive monetary awards and be featured in an exhibition and publication. The strongest and most innovative awards may be constructed in a future second phase of the competition.

A Design Competition That's Putting A New Spin On Parking

Have a passion for re-making our streets for people? Help us design the next generation of multimodal parklet, and you could see your ideas on the street in 2019. In the design phase of the competition, we’re inviting anyone from across the country to submit design proposals for parklets that bring placemaking and multimodal mobility together in the right-of-way.  In the build phase, five finalist teams will receive financial support from Spin, and mentorship and logistical assistance from the Better Block Foundation, to fabricate and install their designs on-site in Denver, Colorado, during September 2019.

The UDAD Awards recognize outstanding ideas that redefine Architecture design through the implementation of novel technologies, materials, programs, aesthetics, and spatial organizations along with studies on globalization, flexibility, adaptability, and the digital revolution.
