Breaking Work - Singularity
Registration Deadline: Friday, Jun 14, 2019
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, Nov 6, 2019
In the future when most mundane work can be automated, humans can view this as an opportunity to do more. Technology, instead of fighting against humans for livelihood, can be seen as an enabler to make better use of their time. The design theme for this year’s challenge is to find how technology and humans can work together in singularity in the times to come. In times when corporations wanting to make their employees work more, how can health and happiness follow in terms of design, with this growing component of work?

SOILED #8 Onceuponascrapers – Call for Submissions
Register/Submit Deadline: Friday, Jul 5, 2019
Positioned between a literary journal and a design magazine, SOILED narrates a playfully sincere and seriously humorous exploration of oft-overlooked dimensions of our built environment. Onceuponascrapers will be a collection of illustrated architectural children’s stories akin to “picture books” that narrate contemporary ideas about architecture and the built environment. We believe that the possibilities for architectural writing for all ages might be amplified by challenging the conventions and tone of voice of “grown-up” behavior.
