Held annually for nearly 50 years, the AIA San Francisco Design Awards celebrate and recognize the outstanding architecture and design achievements of Bay Area individuals and organizations, as well as related professionals from afar who contribute to the framework of the Bay Area's built environment. The winners were announced at the 2019 AIASF Design Awards program at the Herbst Theatre, San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center on April 10.
Out of over 150 competitive submissions from around the world, the jury gave awards to projects designed by the likes of SOM, Aidlin Darling Design, Dumican Mosey Architects, David Baker Architects, Gensler, Mork Ulnes Architects, and more.
In addition to the main design awards categories (Architecture, Interior Architecture, Commendations, and Special Commendations), the jury had the option to recognize outstanding projects in concentrations including historic preservation, social responsibility, commitment to community spaces, urban transformation, and more.
