I-Park Accepting Applications for 2019 Architecture/Landscape Design Residencies – Autumn Sessions

I-Park is now accepting applications for its fully-funded four-week autumn residencies (in rare cases, two-week residencies can be arranged). This multi-disciplinary program is open to architects and landscape architects/designers looking to enrich their practice in a collegial, retreat-like setting – in the company of artists working in visual arts, creative writing, music composition/sound art and moving image.

Scenario Journal's upcoming issue, SCENARIO 7: POWER, will explore the power dynamics of energy transitions, in the context of tackling climate change. It will look at the ways in which power and issues of equity course through our social, political and technological systems. We are looking for pieces that take on the topic of power and energy, using authentic voices to present these layered topics from a variety of perspectives, looking back to history or imagining a radically new future.
CTBUH 2019 International Student Tall Building Design Competition

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) is pleased to announce its 8th International Student Tall Building Design Competition. The goal of the competition is to shed new light on the meaning and value of tall buildings in modern society. Participants should engage with the exploration and resolution of the synergistic relationship between a tall building and its urban setting.
2019 Cocktail Napkin Sketch Contest

The editors of Architectural Record are currently inviting submissions to the Cocktail Napkin Sketch Contest. Licensed architects or related professionals who practice in the United States are eligible to enter. Grand prize winners will receive a $300 gift card and a set of cocktail napkins with their winning sketch printed on it!
