Meetings of Design Students (MEDS) Workshop Tutor Call for Submission

The 2019 MEDS Workshop will take place on Spetses Island with the theme "MEMNISO;" which translates to "to remember" in Greek. The idea of the workshop is to bring these traditional professions together with contemporary crafts and design by exploring new capabilities and learning techniques from expert local craftsmen. An annual open call invites tutors to create a proposal in keeping with the theme of the given MEDS Workshop.

Advanced study in any area of architectural investigation which will effectively contribute to the knowledge, teaching or practice of the art and science of architecture. The proposed investigation is to result in a publicly available written work, design project, research paper, or other form of presentation to be offered at the Center for Architecture.

Together with an international group of participants and a multidisciplinary team of tutors and lecturers, you will research manifestations of migration and develop stories, strategies and actions for an urban renewal area in the City of Rotterdam. Post graduate students from all over the world with a background in urban studies — architecture, urban design and planning, architectural history, arts and media, and other related fields — are invited to apply!
International FINSA Award
Registration Deadline: Friday, Mar 1, 2019
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, May 1, 2019
The International Finsa Award 2019 aims to encourage and challenge students and short term graduates to explore and redesign the use of wood and other ecological and recyclable materials in construction. Entrants are challenged to design the Woodside Pavilion, an informal, pop-up space for art activities for the local community. The winning proposal(s) will be realized.
