Folly/Function 2019 KIOSK

Socrates Sculpture Park and The Architectural League invite emerging designers and architects to help shape the physical setting in which the Park fulfills its role as a venue for art, creative expression, public programming, and education. The 2019 competition asks architects and designers to design and fabricate an entry kiosk that will be located at the park entrance.
2018 Chicago Prize Competition: Crossing the Line
Register/Submit Deadline: Monday, Jan 21, 2019
The call for entries for the 2018 Chicago Prize is currently open! This is an international ideas competition calling for visionary proposals that cross the line. Participants are asked to select one or multiple material and/or immaterial lines that form Chicago, identify their significance, and propose a design that addresses the urban ramifications of these lines. Winners will be announced in February 2019.
2019 North American Copper in Architecture Awards
Register/Submit Deadline: Thursday, Jan 31, 2019
Architects, designers, and sheet metal contractors are invited to submit their copper building projects for the 2019 North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) awards program. The program recognizes and promotes architectural copper and copper alloy structures in North America.
Architectural League Prize for Young Architects + Designers 2019: JUST
Register/Submit Deadline: Monday, Feb 11, 2019
Young architects and designers are invited to submit work to the annual Architectural League Prize Competition. “Just” explores architectural action with the understanding that a multiplicity of coexisting and contradictory attitudes may be constructive, liberating, and justified. This year’s competition asks entrants to consider the just in how they approach the practice of architecture, whether through experimentation in research and design advocacy or by advancing speculative and applied techniques within the discipline.
