London Design Biennale 2018 | 4 -23 September
The third London Design Biennale begins 4 September, and runs until 23 September. This year's theme is 'Emotional States', and will explain the big issues of sustainability, migration, pollution, energy, cities, and social equality. Interactive installations will fill Somerset House, creating immersive experiences alongside a programme of talks.
New London Neighbourhood Tour - Bankside | 8 September
This walk around Bankside will explore the rich mix of old and new, as well as looking at the iconic projects within the neighbourhood including offices by Allies and Morrison, residential Neo Bankside by Rogers Stirk and Partners, and the Tate Modern extension by Herzog and de Meuron. Join to weave through forgotten backstreets and to learn about the regeneration of the area.
Space and setting are vital elements in film and writing for the screen. This panel discussion formed of filmakers, artists, and architects will explore the visualisation of space and its documentation.
Spiritland Talks: Architecture & Music - Prof. Sadie Morgan | 6 September
Continuing with NLA's partnership with trendy Spiritland in Kings Cross, this session will bring together music and architecture. For this evening, after a tour of dRMM's ArtHouse building, and a dinner, Sadie Morgan will talk about how music has inspired her work, and the ideas that have guided her.
Stirling Stories (London) 2018 | 11 September
Hear from practices shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2018, as they explain the processes and stories behind these designs. This event comes before the prize giving evening in October where the winner will be announced and will gives unique insights into these projects.
