World premiere of Unknown New York: The City that Women Built | June 6
How many buildings in New York City were built by women? Don't miss the world premiere of Beverly Willis' latest documentary! This new 17-minute film introduces prominent women architects, engineers, and builders who have played integral roles in creating New York City.
2018 Iron Designer Challenge | June 7
Watch 10 teams of high school students and industry professionals compete in this year’s Iron Designer Challenge, in which they will build a structure that, when viewed from different perspectives, creates a profile different from the objects that make up the structure, creating a unique perceptual experience. Projects will be built in front of a live audience. Event is open to all!
Derrick Adams: Sanctuary | Open now until August 12
If you haven't seen it, the Museum of Arts and Design is still showcasing “Derrick Adams: Sanctuary”, an exhibition featuring some 50 works of multi-disciplinary artist Derrick Adams. The exhibition reflects on the plight of working-class black people before and during the Civil Rights Movement, and their determination to pursue the same American Dream afforded to others.
