Cal Poly LA Metro lectures:
Bryan Cantley of Form:uLA | May 31
Christoph Kumpusch of Forward-slash / Back-splash \ ARCHITEKTUR | June 2
Join the Cal Poly LA Metro program and Helms Bakery District for presentations and discussions by Bryan Cantley and Christoph Kumpusch this week. Don't miss out!
City and Cosmos: The Arts of Teotihuacan | Open now until July 15
The exhibition presents recent findings from Mexican national and international archaeological projects excavating at Teotihuacan's three main pyramids—the Sun, Moon, and the Feathered Serpent—and major residential compounds. These discoveries have fundamentally changed our understanding of the city’s history. City and Cosmos focuses both on the main pyramids and residential compounds to explore the central question of how the city worked to create a cohesive civic identity.
Lauren Halsey: we still here, there | Open now until September 3
At MOCA Grand Avenue, artist Lauren Halsey will build and regularly change an immersive space resembling a fantastical system of caves that viewers are invited to linger in and explore. This environment will serve as a visionary archive reflecting the diversity of everyday black cultural experiences in South Central L.A., Halsey's home since childhood.
