This design competition centers around enhancing and enlivening the Detroit Institute of Arts’s exterior campus, and seeks an outstanding integrated design team for developing an urban and landscape design strategy and connection framework. No design is required at the first stage. Competitors are invited to electronically submit their qualifications.

Gentle Invasions - Adaptive Touristic Facilities Along the Albanian Riviera

The main idea of this competition is to gather speculative architectural proposals addressing the topic of adaptive design strategies for tourism and unpredictable landscape mutations caused by climate change. The challenge is to design a hybrid system capable of responding to different coastline scenarios influenced by sea level rise.

Laka invites designers from around the world to submit their ideas of ‘architecture that reacts.’ The main focus of the competition is on the solutions that develop through a process of changes and adjustments.
