Josep Lluís Mateo: Footprints | March 27
For The Architectural League of New York's Current Work lecture series, architect Josep Lluís Mateo will discuss three of his projects: the Cultural Center of Castelo Branco, the Film Theatre of Catalonia, and the Prague National Gallery Entrance Hall.
Wharton Esherick: Synthesizing Art, Design, Crafts, Architecture | March 28
Design historian Daniella Ohad will moderate a panel discussion between Carolyn Coal (filmmaker), Dr. Robert Aibel (collector, scholar, and dealer), and Paul Eisenhauer (former executive director and curator of the Wharton Esherick Museum), which will follow a screening of “I Am Known as an Artist”, a documentary focusing on the godfather of the Studio Furniture Movement and inventor of Art Furniture, Wharton Esherick.
Pedro&Juana: Assembly of Pigs, Pots and Philodendrons | March 29
Mexico City-based architecture practice Pedro&Juana will give a presentation in New York for the first time. The lecture will be a comprehensive introduction of their most recent work and will dive into their process of thinking through design.
