This week's picks for London architecture and design events

Museum of Architecture's Gingerbread City | until 22 December

The Museum of Architecture's Gingerbread City is open, and workshops are running up until Friday.  The City is formed of gingerbread creations from architecture and design practices, and masterplanned by Tibbalds. The family workshops allow children (and big kids alike) to create a house to take home. 

Wintertime at Southbank | Until 4 January

The Southbank is known for its brutalist, concrete river frontage, casting shadows with its angular volumes. For *Wintertime* the atmosphere is somewhat softer, with the pop-up festive market more angled toward the human scale. Choirs, theatre, saunas, and food will brighten up the dark nights at this wintery celebration.

Festive Walks | Until 31 December

If you’re feeling the festive stodge of the season's excess, why not take part in a guided walk. Tours are themed, and will let you get to know the city in the quietest period of the year on the streets.

London's New Year's Eve celebrations are world renowned. Maybe it's got something to do with the iconic skyline… The main show has sold out, but there are many alternatives to the main event (including your local viewpoint, and a warm coat - Primrose Hill works particularly well).
