Getting to Zero: Zero Waste Design Guidelines | December 4
Join Open House New York for the special closing event of “Getting to Zero”, their yearlong series highlighting New York’s waste system. This event features a presentation of the Zero Waste Design Guidelines, a new publication for rethinking how design can help NYC become a zero waste city.
The designing of new art and cultural spaces must be analyzed using new criteria. This panel will discuss whether or not new cultural spaces are fulfilling what today's audiences and artists want, and if investing in these projects are as beneficial as institutional and municipal leaders claim. Panelists include Arthur Cohen, Adrian Ellis, Victoria Newhouse, Joshua Prince-Ramus, and Annabelle Selldorf.
“Flatiron Reflection” | On display now until January 1
Come check out the winning Flatiron Public Plaza Holiday Design Competition design, “Flatiron Reflection” by Future Expansion Architects.
Curated by Beatriz Colomina and Mark Wigley and designed by Andres Jaque and the Office for Political Innovation, this installation completely fills the entire Princeton School of Architecture with a dense collage of overlapping works by architects, artists, designers, scientists, filmmakers, research groups and think tanks. “The effect is a kaleidoscope of artistic, technical, philosophical, theoretical and ethical reflection on the intimate relation between ‘design’ and ‘human’.”
