EU’s second-tallest building revealed following KCAP competition win in Slovakia

KCAP’s winning design envisions the skyscrapers as a cluster of slender vertical volumes, each tapering at different heights. The design seeks to integrate with existing structures, including the nearby Eurovea Tower, creating a visually balanced and dynamic skyline. The architectural approach was also informed by Bratislava’s Urban Study of Height Zoning, which aims to maintain a harmonious cityscape while accommodating high-rise development.

“The warm metallic façade captures and reflects light in subtly refined ways, shifting the towers’ expression with the changing daily weather,” KCAP said about the scheme. “Connected by glass base pavilions with amenities and spaces for casual gatherings, the project integrates a lush green landscape inspired by the Danube’s flowing forms to create a harmonious balance between architecture and nature. With sustainable systems that reduce concrete use, optimize construction, and minimize carbon emissions, the project shall set a new benchmark for high-rise living in bustling Bratislava.”

The project emerged victorious in the JTRE-led Eurovea City Concept Design Competition, which attracted firms such as Dominique Perrault Architecte and Gensler. KCAP’s design was developed in collaboration with engineering firm Buro Happold.
