New architecture and design competitions: RAIC Annual Awards, Winter Stations, Peja Culture Pavilion, and IFLA Green Library Award

"The city center of Peja, Kosovo, hosts a historically significant site that has long been a focal point for community gatherings and social interactions. [...] The competition seeks innovative ideas to transform the site into a lively participatory public area. The primary objective is to design a flexible multipurpose pavilion and an engaging outdoor space that revitalizes the area. The pavilion should serve as a cultural center that not only integrates the 15th-century water fountain but also enhances its historical importance. "

Winter Stations 2025
Registration/Submission Deadline: Sunday, November 3, 2024

"Winter Stations is a single-stage international design competition held annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Participants are tasked with designing temporary winter art installations which incorporate existing lifeguard towers spaced strategically across the city’s Kew and Woodbine beaches. The structures (not in use in the wintertime) are considered visual anchor points for the installations. As in previous years, Winter Stations intends to build 4-6 winning proposals for a six-week exhibition along the waterfront, funding permitted."

RAIC 2025 Annual Awards

IFLA Green Library Award 2025: Call for Submissions
Registration/Submission Deadline: Friday, January 31, 2025

"In line with IFLA Key Initiative 1.1: Show the power of libraries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the award helps to advance the profession through illuminating the role of libraries and librarians in the advancement of sustainability standards and the promotion of specialized knowledge within professional practice."
