A visible figure in the world of architecture and design, Hodge was a curator in those fields at the Museum of Contemporary Art from 2001 until 2009, when her job was eliminated as part of a larger round of staff layoffs. Before that, from 1991 to 2000, she was director of exhibitions and publications at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.
