In NYC plans to develop an old, crumbling Burlington Coat Factory on Park Place into a community center and mosque have raised concern among some of the relatives of those killed in the 9/11 attacks. Yet, not all of the families of survivors are opposed, some are supportive as they want to emphasize the fact that the terrorists who attacked on 9/11 are not representative of all Muslims or even true Islam.

over 300 muslims also died in 9/11.
i am not religious at all. actually quite the opposite but i think best place to build a mosque would be right on the ground zero. so muslims would get a chance to pray for all the victims five times a day, a true muslim would.
i think it would be also good to build a church and a synagogue there as well. let all the abraham-icists pray all day all the time while waiting for peace train to go uptown. why didn't libeskind think of that?
on the other hand, muslims, if not given a place to build their proper mosques, will remodel the corner former strip joint and pray there. they are most flexible. like the central americans in los angeles turning store fronts into sunday churches.
it is useless and dangerous to try to marginalize a world religion of almost two billion people to the abandoned warehouses and relate their faith to fanatics.
i strongly recommend everybody to visit a muslim country in their lifetime if they like traveling and go beyond what we have been fed by preferential media.
