Not to mention they use ridiculous amounts of electricity to operate.

That said, I think electronic billboards should be banned, anyway. Certain electronic signage, like in Vegas or Times Square, is one thing, but just plopping a billboard anywhere is not appropriate - and in most places a traffic hazard, IMO.

The issue with this isn't saving the world, its personal privacy.
If that thing was put up next to my house it would be burnt down the first night.
The same as the mobile antenna in my area was cut down when it was placed beside a school. Further attempts to hide it in gas station signage resulted in abother toppling of signage.
