I'm sorry, but am i the only one that finds these designboom interviews somewhat repulsive? Over and over they ask the same questions, and what do we learn from that? Mostly architects, on a superficial level, all think the same way... What a surprise! And then you always know that the dumbest question of all is coming... 'do you notice what women are wearing?' Gimme a break! And sometimes they ask the women (the few they interview) the same question. I love Inga Sempé's answer... "Q. I assume you notice how women dress. do you have any preferences? A. no." Good answer.
While the questions asked are certainly formulaic/repetitive, I personally welcome the opportunity to hear the architects(and other interviewees) describe in their own words, their style, influences etc...
Especially as they so often seem to be less bombastic than one would imagine given some of the firms represented...
Nam -- Just to add, don't get me wrong, in case there is any doubt, I have also posted these interviews on Archinect before, so I don't make the comment above in order to reflect it negatively back at you. I would probably post these interviews again if I come across a particularly compelling one. I also appreciate the opportunity for the architects to put this into their own words. That part usually comes in the second half of each interview. I just think that now that there is quite a long history of these interviews on designboom, it's a good time to look back.
Javier,
I figured it wasn't directed towards me. I have second guessed myself re: posting them sometimes...
As you said there is a long history of exactly the same questions each time..
