how dirty would these things get? i can't imagine they would be reliable, they'd have to be cleaned repeatedly to be effective...

But I admit I love the idea of driving past this pseudo-forest of environmental devices far better than driving past an endless perspective of billboards advertising.
Unfortunately it's probably a short time before someone decides to sell ads on the sides of the fake trees. So yeah, let's just plant real trees.
