i much agree that we can learn from informal, self-organizing settlements, but charles' comments here strike me as arrogant and vaguely condescending.
really, he could have built his own slum in england, rather than his ridiculous poundbury. or better still, not burden us with his theories and rather worked with indian groups to enable dharavi to have better sanitation and plumbing.
