I don't think we have a democratic process in place as much as she thinks we do. Here too, developers eventually win and twist arms. Many developments in UAE are designed-developed and managed by the US and Western companies. Ironically, NIMBY'ism 'here' and YITBY'ism (yes in their back yard) 'there.'
