Google has partnered with LIFE Magazine to make publicly available the entire archive of historic photography. In high resolution no less! Check it out
so, if the trick is to put a word followed by "source:x" ("source:life" in this case), does that mean that there are other "sources", other historic archives available? maybe from TIME or other magazines? maybe historic -dead- architectural magazines? I want to see pics from the first numbers of the British The Architectural Review!!
yes, I knew how to do searches in a specific site with the "site:" trick... but maybe they have some other "special" searches?...
now I've tried "architect" using "source:time" and it just shows a standard search with the warning beside the search box: "source:time was dropped from your search because it is not supported for this type of search"
so they don't have any deal with TIME... I wonder if there's a way to know with which "sources" they have any special deals..
by the way, I just NEED to post this... I took the "wood" from your example and used it for the LIFE "source search":
*sigh* now, that's great quality (W)ood...

"architect source:life":
Not sure about other "sources" Medit, but you can always search the images on a website by adding "site:domain.com" after the keyword.
Example: wood site:archinect.com
