In my recent visit to Dallas Center for the Performing Arts under construction, by the way of KRob, I saw Wyly Theatre by REX/OMA. I photographed REX/OMA's beautifully executed models of the project and the building in progress, ready for its tube like variegated aluminum extrusion screen, in transit from Argentina. The building design is an amalgamation of smaller and larger OMA projects and it is very complex in its seemingly simple rectangular form.
"The Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre will be one of the world's most innovative theatre facilities. The 12-level building will feature a groundbreaking design with an unprecedented "stacked," vertically organized facility that completely rethinks the traditional form of theatre. The Wyly Theatre was designed by REX/OMA, Joshua Prince-Ramus (partner in charge) and Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rem Koolhaas."

masterpiece.
Thanks for the images, I must look at them more carefuly but they look very good pictures.
You might know that the project is being carried out by Rex (Oma ex-NY office led by Joshua Prince Ramus and his partner Perez Elia).
You can find pictures in their website: www.rex-ny.com
Thanks again!
akin, those are incredible construction images for this exceptional building. people who are involved in design and execution of this building deserve a huge ovation.
also, thank you for clarifying rex's involvement and partnership with oma regarding the project.
inspiring at many levels...
not only beautiful, it also seems to address at its essence its civic character...i truly hope that his building will follow nelson-atkin's public success...
I recently got a tour of the building under construction and in my flickr I have a slideshow of the theater. I had to use my canon a540 point and shoot, but there are shots of Norman Foster's Winspear Opera house too.
