boston is like, a conservative lame berlin. with a better architecture school and hospital, but far fuglier buildings.
Boston seems like a somewhat more conservative San Francisco more so than being than Berlin -- heavily touristed waterfront city, provincial and tradition-bound yet socially progressive, with a large amount of intellectual capital yet fostering a general suspicion of 'the new' in the built environment, and generally in the shadow of its bigger more adventurous cousin metropolis down the road (NY and LA).
i decided not to stay in boston after school because there were too many architects...
now that i'm in new york the only people i meet are doctors, lawyers, and bankers.
i kinda miss architects.
um, that's a much better crowd to be hanging out with. contacts, contacts, contacts.
