Don't forget to feed the meter.. More after the jump.
hello,
I am writing to you as a volunteer helping to plan PARK[ing] Day LA 2008, which is citywide initiative happening on Friday, September 19th.
If you haven't yet, I hope you will consider participating in Park[ing] Day LA, either by creating your own park or by visiting the parks that will be scattered around town.
If you plan to create a park, you can register your park at http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?key=pwvwMZ9-TinaiiAr2qL81AQ&email=true
Please try to register as soon as possible so we can be sure to add your PARK[ing] space to our map! So far, we have the following parks committed: http://www.communitywalk.com/parkingdayla2008
You can create a park for as little as an hour or as long as 8 if you want - it's completely up to you. Gather your coworkers, neighbors, students, friends, etc and create a park and relate it to what is important to you - your park can be a place to unwind, have fun with friends & strangers, teach folks about gardening, urban foraging, the importance of open green space for city dwellers, native plants, water issues - whatever you want. Use it as a platform to spread the message about what your non profit, design company, students, etc does or can do. Roll out astro turf or sod, plop down a bench, a ping pong table, a blow up pool, plants, you get the idea and enjoy the day!

· The California Endowment will be hosting a panel discussion that will focus on land use, the built environment and health…not directly about PARK[ing] Day, but certainly a tie-in. It will be on September 17th, at 7pm, and the Center for Healthy Communities on Alameda. http://www.calendow.org/chc/
· On PARK[ing] Day there will be a panel discussion on park space and parking in Los Angeles at Farmlab at noon with Don Shoup (UCLA Planning Professor) and Erik Knutzen (author of Home Grown Evolution) among others. http://farmlab.org/
· In the evening we will be having a joyous celebration at the A+D museum on Wilshire across from LACMA - open to all with music provided by Little Radio and KCRW and beer by New Belgium Brewery. http://aplusd.org/v3/
Let me know if you have any questions. And, please help us spread the word about Park[ing] Day LA!

Park[ing] Day LA was fun last year! Looking forward to this year's action.
hmmm....
I thought it was cooler before I realized that Rebar had their lawyers write up a LICENSE for participants.

Yes this license thing is new...but I can't think that many folks would be violating it anyway. Plan your PARK!
