This summer, red signs and green signs in the front lawns of Suffield, Conn., have revealed a town divided over plans to build a new library in place of a modern one built in its historic district in 1972...The signs are gone now. The people have spoken. In a July 22 referendum, residents voted 2,556 to 1,525 against spending $13.6 million on a new library to take the place of the Kent Memorial Library, designed by Warren Platner. Preservation Magazine
The Kent Memorial Library was designed by Connecticut architect Warren Platner, known for designing the original restaurant at the top of the World Trade Center.

nice looking library. congrats, suffield!
sounds like there still may be a library project brewing, and that it might include moving rather than renovating/adding. hope they can find a good future for this structure.
