L.E.D.’s have replaced standard bulbs in many traffic lights. The lights are also being used as a design element, such as at The Marcus Center in Milwaukee, above. NYT
we had a presentation about new l.e.d. downlights in our office today. the upside: 50k-70k lamp life compared to cfls 10k. the downside: cfl lamps - $10; l.e.d. lamps - you CAN'T buy such a thing, you gotta replace the whole $300 fixture! so why would this be considered a green solution?
