Don't know whether i am happy because they are trying to make sure the stadium has a lasting use/impact, or whether i think "Ughhh, Banal!" in that they are ruining the original program.
I wonder if H&M are involved with the planning of the new construction?
How would they do all that new programming? Very intriguing....
I don't know how they can include a hotel in there, but given how they managed to stuff all the shops (quite an insult to) in the Hong Kong airport, then the Beijing airport. I'm quite sure the rest of the additional program is feasible.
One day, when Herzog stand infront of that thing, he probaby would say, hei! Ai Wei Wei, you did a good job!
Well, it seems that the following is not gong to happen, now the bird's nest has fallen victim for the love of consumption.
"At the end of the interview I ask what will happen to the stadium – known as the ‘bird’s nest’ – after the Olympics. He (Ai Weiwei) reveals that Jacques Herzog envisions the stadium being used for weddings. We laugh. A bird’s nest transformed into a love nest? Not a bad idea."
