The third in a series of end of year 1:1 structures by Intermediate level students of the Architectural Association. Photos and technical details on BD>>
yeah my friend Valeria was part of the winning team, you can see her in the images at BD.... she's 100% Tijuana!!, nice congrats guys (if u have time to read this post between breaks of your intalation)
furring strips aren't bad!
couldn't swinging around tools w/ a scarf that long/loose be dangerous? i can't imagine wearing that around a table saw would be too intelligent, even if it is fashionable
Actually the AA has a pretty good workshop with great technicians who will direct you if you need help... I went there for summer school in 2005. The tutors are also great. I can see how the students produce such amazing work with the resources they have as well as the time they personally spend on their work. Personally I can't wait till the 4th July.

Having said this I wonder what happened with the diversity of agendas and multiplicity of directions that a school like the AA traditionally has had when a structure by a second year student sits meters away from a structure by a postgraduate architect and they both look so similar.

she could be denounced by the fastener company in usa for wearing a scarf like that.

When we have to build dumb crap like that at RISD, we have to use firring strips and sisal rope. Arup, jeeze.

The AA not only has a great workshop with very good and helpful technicians right in the school at Bedford Square but it also owns a large workshop space surrounded by a forest in Hooke Park http://www.aaschool.net/default.aspx?section=school&page=Hooke%20Park%20Workshop
