Seems extraordinarily conservative, from the images! Curious to see the other (losing) entries. Disappointing... this is an epic urban site which deserved something with more large-scale character, IMHO.
does anyone know exactly how many museum/design competitions have been announced for the West Kowloon Cultural District?
Seems I can recall at least a few other announcements over 1-2 yrs.
also maybe i was missing something but based on all the language in entry re:
uncovering the tunnel, a spectacular space is created for art and design, installation and performance; the excavations reveal nature of a “second order”, a “Found Space”
i was expecting to see a different sort of spatial configuration in renders...
also am i only one who see a big middle finger?
