Our XD team revealed a few projects they're working on at Adobe MAX 2013. The team has been exploring how new form factor displays, new interactions (like touch and gesture), cloud connections and even new hardware might change how you all create and in turn how it might impact what software we need to build. — youtube.com

I love that the ruler is called Napolean.
That photograph confuses me. Are they saying we would use a straightedge to build a perspective on a tablet?
yummy.
I 'ideated' for a whole day once, had to go to the emergency room.
afterwards me and matt damon were dropped into south America to terminate foreign assets.
scritch scritch: hey adobe, do I have to buy your bit of cloud to have yummy pen and ruler?
OK I've watched the video now, which I hadn't before my previous comment.
First, that guy is so smiley it's hard to resist what he's selling! Good choice.
Second, the pen looks like there is a very slight delay between the movement and the mark, which you do not have with a physical pen/cil. I think I would find that so annoying that I'd want to hurl the pen across the room.
But, watching the video made me sufficiently interested that I'd actually like to try it out - seems like it could be very intuitive, of course, and if the precision can be dialed up or down depending on whether one is sketching or drafting it could be very fun to use. Maybe one gets used to the delay, and the varying pressures required to get the type of line one wants. It's still not a physical experience, but definitely it's moreso than mouse input; makes me think about connected body/input more positively.
Im assuming the delay is a setting - it must be - how many cpu cores can get crammed and hyperthreaded into a tablet these days? Someone in marketing must think it looks cool in the video, because everyone else in the world who draws totally hates it.
Tell me more about this positive body input . . .?

Really!!! That guy made my skin crawl, what a salesman! "You'll just have to try it out for your self..." Golly, I bet I'll just have to mister! Since we're just "scratching the surface" I can't wait to pony up for next year's upgraded digital pen. I hope comes with facebook on it. I can suggest one positive body input I'd like to see this guy explore with that pen.
Va fan culo.
Thayer. That positive body input comment made me LOL!
I think he seems sincerely excited in a totally geeky way about this!
And Spike I'm talking about the slow, small inroads into cyborg-ness we're seeing and will see with our tools. A pen that responds to pressure and a pad that recognizes your finger as an eraser are steps towards retina-scanning input and embedded contact points. I'm kinda excited about that.
drat.
I was hoping it was some sort of entendre.
but 'slow, small inroads' has potential
These devices and applications are only going to get better.
Michael Graves must be sobbing.
The best rebuttal old farts can come up with is usually references to bathrooms and other sexual acts. Buncha golden girls, LOL!
I work in an office where a lot of geezers still use the mayline. Actually a lot of young people also do. It drives me up the fucking wall - and then they complain why the work is not "avant-garde" anymore.

What's better than a computerized pen that simulates a hand drawing? Better living through chemistry!
I want to know where that guy went to Architecture School. I'm sure they teach a course in Smiling there.. I bet I could even perfect my smile if I went for a Masters Degree.
Cool concept, I agree the delay on the screen would be annoying. But, I hope they build in a feature where you can set a scale draw to draw to. Where the curser visually tells you the distance of a line in feet or meters depending on your selected scale factor. Copy clip a 1/4 inch plan to do sketch overlays, elevations, etc. If Might is being promoted as a useful architectural tool, a scale option should be built in.
Nice...
I am actually really enjoying Creative Cloud and look forward to their new products.

Slow, dumb, and redundant. Have fun in the wheelchair, non-electric of course.
Better living through chemistry!
