It took the jury led by Peter Zumthor two days to decide how to distribute 240.000 dollar among the four winners. Zaha came third, Bernaskoni (who?) and Velerio Olgiati (pardon me?) had a photo finish. Architectenweb
The Olgiati proposal is pretty beautifull - hope it gets built - Zaha boring as hell. Interesting to see if the local-architect prevails of the two winners, despite the problems of the scheme.
can't see zumthor being into eisenman! or was that sarcasm about eisenman being shortlisted? Interesting that Zumphor and Olgati are both from the same canton of grissons and whose early work has a definite traceable path to local vernacular which Olgati apparently wants to be subversive within this context more than re-interpreting the vernacular in a modern way like zumthor has done. Both approaches have produced a similarly great results in the region.

It's V-A-lerio Olgiati, please don't tell me you don't know him...it's like: we wouldn't know Arets.

If your Russian happens to be a little rusty, Bustler has images plus the winner names in Latin characters.

Agree with Helsinki - the Olgiati proposal looks great and it would be interesting to see him getting some more recognition.
this guy is ecstatic that they finally are gonna build a museum for perms.
How about that rainbow scheme?
