Archinector and USC grad student Emily Kemper blogs about last night's panel discussion at the USC SoA: I don't normally like to use profanity in my blog posts, as I find it unnecessary. I am, however, unable to write about this evening's conversation with Dean Qingyun Ma, Thom Mayne, and Sir Peter Cook at USC without quoting Peter himself when I try to describe it. Three different perspectives, three architectural visionaries from three different continents, and most of what they talked about was, as Peter said over and over again, "weird shit." the wondersphere | discuss | previously

Thanks for summarizing the event Emily! Very enjoyable read.
reminds me of what ppl at that time at OMA said about the famous Pitt visit to rotterdam... that he said over and over again "crazy shit!"
speaking of weird shit, where does Thom get his socks?
Oh, hey, look at that. Thanks for news-ing me, Paul. :)
I like Thom's socks too, mdler.
AP newsed you, but I would have if he didn't beat me to it.
Oh whoops. Thanks AP. And Paul anyway, lol.
thanks emily,
i enjoyed reading your review. a lot.
Phoo, I can't remember how to log in to comment on your blog, Emily (I'm on my hub's computer). So I'll post here: great write-up on your blog! I enjoyed reading it and it seemed to capture the audience experience very well. That's the fun thing about seeing this stuff live rather than just, for example, reading a transcript - you get to go ooh...aah...huh?!? along with everyone else. Thanks for letting us do so too!
Thanks Orhan and liberty!!! :-D
haha, Ma is good at bullshitting......
