I had the experience of traveling to a few Chinese casinos at my former employment. While they seemed to look 'good' from far away, their interior craftsmanship was nothing short of shoddy. Most details were lost in a clusterfuck of dried dripping glue, fingerprints, and loose fastners.
I hope that they did better with this one.

i thought dubia was the new vegas....i guess everyone wants to be the new vegas
Casinos are bad and casinos building are bad too!
Macau is nothing like Vegas (as an urban form). No strip, just an industrial-ish wasteland of huge casino buildings.
Only similarity:
Casinos and the usual accompaniments.
also, Macau has a beautiful old European (Portuguese) city center entirely separate from the casino area.
I think a "wasteland of huge casino buildings" is a fairly accurate description of Las Vegas, actually...
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.
i can think of a better description of vegas...
not so sure anything quite as useful can be learned from macau's casino district. no redemption.
