As WonderK reminds us over on GTC, today there are a series of concerts all over the world as part of an environmental awareness campaign. Watch 'Live Earth' | Official Site
i some of it and kept thinking that it'd be nice if all this stuff that electrified the show would have been done with conservation in mind, but how do you do that for an event of such short duration?
perhaps the solution to that would have been smaller venues with all unplugged gear? they could have done these gigs at mass transit terminals, could you imaging Foo Fighters playing an all acoustic set on a NYC platform? it would have been an epic finale to see Dave Grohl jump in front of a subway at the end of Everlong....epic.

i am sure most of these people leave the largest carbon footprints of all. more hype more marketing. more b.s.
funnily enough I asked Clinton that question today and why his foundation is not committed to greening
the Gulf Coast, as they are doing globally.
He said Brad Pitt + Bill McD were 'on it' for NOLA.
(full disclosure: I'm flying home tonight so I'll be contributing to destroying the environment while the concert is on)
full agreement w. vado here. staging this event is quite ironic, regardless of any mitigating steps taken along the way.
