Tejon Ranch is one of the last great California ranches and owned by a public company. Is this land of condors and grazing cattle really needed to become 23,000 tract houses? NYT
is growth inevitable or necessary? Demographers predict that the population of southern California will reach 25 million or so in the next 20 years. So what would happen if no new housing, freeways, hospitals, or shopping mall were built? Would all those people still move to LA?
What about liking the city as it is - well, the Los Angeles I love is already gone and developers have always run the town like their own personal monopoly game- well make that a personal Sim City since the 1850s.
