I heard on NPR last week that compact fluorescent bulbs use mercury, and disposing of them is a significant environmental problem - toss them in the trash, mercury seeps into groundwater (sigh).
Lb- that's why all retailers who sell CFBs have disposal programs in place... well the other choice is $90 LED bulbs w/o the Hg.
isn't this the prepetual condition of consumption? the effects contradict the benefits? the more we do , the worst the outcomes? we're back to 1930, but with less ethics! what do you do now?!
