In his latest article Michael Kimmelman examines how New York University’s latest plan to expand in Greenwich Village has caused a storm of protest. Although the "crescent towers devised by N.Y.U.’s team...are nonstarters" Kimmelman does suggest that both NYU and the local citizens can get most of what they want, if both parties are willing to compromise a bit.

Andrew, thanks for posting your school assignment. It really helped explain the site and its historical evolution. (It was also well drawn and fun to read!) I am assuming "The Future?" (p.8-9) is speculative and not a part of the final master plan, no?
